I have used a range of interpersonal skills throughout my
life. I have used these skills mainly for group work, activities, presentations
and question and answer situations. The skills I have used include verbal and non-verbal
communication as well as active engagement, negotiation, problem solving skills
and decision making skills.
The main area that I have learnt, developed and
used these skills has been in school which included lots of group work and
presentations. Many of my interpersonal skills were developed through group
activities outside of school. For example I did Cubs and when there I learned a
lot of skills as I would help out with events and group activities. Verbal
Communication is critical as it’s something that I use daily to communicate between
friends and family.
Written communication is also important as it allows us to
communicate to others through words and it is important to get it correct as if
something is wrong within written communication it can convey a completely different
meaning. Other methods of communication including problem solving are
also important as it is the method of solving an issue. There are several types
of situations in which problem solving is used. These situations could include
noise, physical, arguments and more. Most of these problems are hard to solve
on your own.
